Last night it snowed very heavily. It was wet and sticky, and when it was all said and done, there was about six or eight inches. This, after no snow for almost a month. So, after a 25 hour day, I got up very early and went out for a walk with my camera. Everything was just beautiful. As soon as you walk twenty feet into the woods, the only thing you can hear are your footsteps and the birds.
Just as I was thinking that I should be heading back, the sky cleared from complete cloud-cover to cloud-free. It was like a different day. So I had to stay uot another half hour or so. But it was so worth it.
I did meet a couple people out on the trails, and what few words we exchanged were very subdued and quiet. You just couldn't break the spell by talking.
